Short History
The BMW M has always been BMW's high-performance model.
And, how good is that E36! When you wake up the 3.0 inline six, you are treated to the iconic M engine sound that is only known in Munich.
M3 E36 (1993-1999)
The second generation M3 was introduced in 1993 as a coupe. The first coupe had a 3.0 liter inline six engine with 286 hp, and did the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6 seconds. The top speed for this generation was already 250 km/h. In 1994 the M3 convertible and sedan arrived. The convertible took 0.2 seconds longer to complete the sprint, the sedan was just as smooth as the coupe.
In 1995, the three body styles received an engine update.
The engine block was enlarged to 3.2 liters and the power increased to 321 hp. As a result, the sedan and coupe went from zero to one hundred in 5.5 seconds, the convertible did it in 5.6 seconds.

The bodywork is in original and very good condition. The lacquer has a deep shine and is homogeneous in color.
The body panels are nice and sleek and original and the reveals between the different body panels run nicely parallel.
The windshield was replaced at some point. The trunk with associated upholstery is in good original condition.
The black convertible roof is the original in good condition with normal signs of wear.
Fitted are original BMW Motorsport rims with 5 double spokes in very good condition.
The tires all around are Dunlop brand, front size 225/45 R17, in good condition with ± 6 mm profile, rear size 245/40 R17, with ± 5 mm profile depth.
The engine compartment is in very clean original condition and starts and runs smoothly without any abnormal noises.
The car is equipped with a BMW Business radio and standard anti-theft protection.
The interior is the original beige-brown leather with normal signs of wear in good condition.
The seats are in leather, the interior panels in leather and plastic, the dashboard in black plastic, the carpet in beige-brown carpet and the headliner in black fabric.
Of course, the original hardtop is present.
The popularity and value of these cars on the classic market has increased significantly in recent years. This M3 E36 from the last series was originally delivered in Germany and has been driving in the Netherlands since 2005. The car is in a well-maintained and beautiful general condition.
Only 1763 copies of this E36 M3 convertible in European version were built from 02/1996 to 08/1999
Given the increase in value of the E36, this may be the right time to purchase one!
